More About the Event:

Le Tour Ripponden

On the afternoon of Sunday 6th July 2014, the world’s greatest cycle race and largest free spectator event – Le Tour de France – passes through our picturesque village of Ripponden, nestled in the Ryburn Valley of Calderdale, West Yorkshire.

The village will be hosting a weekend of activities, culminating in the race’s visit:  after the riders have tackled the famous Cragg Vale climb, they will descend into Ripponden to the base of Ripponden Bank. It may not be Alpe d’Huez but Ripponden Bank is not a hill for the faint hearted and will make a superb spectator vantage point, just yards from the village centre.
